Special issue: Big data advancing the way Parkinson’s disease is detected

This year again, the i-PROGNOSIS project partners are rallying the #UniteForParkinsons awareness raising campaign to sensitize on the possibilities brought by new technologies to earlier detect Parkinson’s and thus better support people living with the disease. Join the movement: share our video and download our mobile app on the Google Play Store!

Your data will help refine the algorithm able to detect early signs of Parkinson’s. Your data will be anonymised and securely stored on a Cloud. The first prototype of the iPrognosis mobile application is free and currently available for Android devices in Germany, Greece, Portugal and the UK. Vassili: "I felt it was a unique, modern way to do medical research"

As an advisor to the Co-Federation of Greek Pensioners (AGSSE), Vassili Louziotis is in regular contact with organisations of older people all over the country. He recently became an ambassador of the i-PROGNOSIS project to help communities usually distant from medical research to take action for better health and care for people living with Parkinson's disease.

Tony: "If something does not suit you, do it yourself"

Tony Seidl was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 38. In 2016, he decided to cycled 519 km across the Alps to meet with other people with Parkinson’s and encourage them not to give up. He was one of the first persons to join the i-PROGNOSIS project as an ambassador. He tells us why.

Anthony: "I was surprised with all the symptoms targeted in i-PROGNOSIS"

Anthony Mule' Stagno is a 76 years old pensioner. He was diagnosed with very early Parkinson's disease three years ago. As a technology-savvy, he is very much willing to contribute to the i-PROGNOSIS project.

First user evaluation: iPrognosis app performs well and is perceived as useful

Nine months after the release of the iPrognosis application, the project partners circulated a short questionnaire with the aim to collect feedback from app users and guide the next project developments. This article presents a summary of the user evaluation findings.

i-PROGNOSIS proof of concept pitched in front of investors in Brussels

The Occitanie Europe regional office hosted an engaging side event to the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing Conference of Partners on 26 February 2018. AGE Platform Europe and HOPE invited three EU-funded H2020 projects FrailSafe, i-PROGNOSIS and ICT4Life to present their ICT-based solutions to public and private investors interested in exploiting innovative technologies in health and care.
